about

Available on Paisley Shirt Records:
paisleyshirtrecords.bandcamp.com/album/boyfriends-dead

The Snogs are a crash pop outfit formed in sleepy Santa Cruz, California in 2016. Set in motion by Ross Barnes, the band has since become a constantly rotating and ever-growing group of friends: Albert, Augie, Claire, Emma, Devin, Greg, Jos, Kal, Katie, Mal, Natalie, Paolo, Percy, Sequoia, Siena, Snow, and of course, T. They’ve never performed with the same line-up twice. If practice makes perfect, sleeping in instead makes The Snogs. Their latest effort, “Boyfriend’s Dead”, came about in the same fashion as their previous three tapes. It was written and recorded in Ross’ room, after a light breakfast in bed, before settling down in front of the TV for the night. Sequoia Pinterits came down from their bedroom upstairs to sing on a few songs. Mal Nisbet, who shares a wall with Ross, provided the spoken words on “Man Thinks Woman” (originally a tune by the wonderful Vancouver group, Mecca Normal). “Boyfriend’s Dead” is meant as a fairytale - boy meets girl, meets the duchess and the earl, meets the princess and the pea, who chopped down the cherry tree! The Snogs stare towards the flower-spangled future of the international pop underground with pinwheel eyes - then quickly back down to their shoes. Ciao!

All proceeds from cassette purchases will be donated to Mission Meals. Proceeds up to $100 will be matched by The Snogs at the time of donation.
